Polk County is home to several fabulous wineries and vineyards.  The Green Creek District where we are located is home tof five unique vineyards.  Most feature incredible Blueridge Mountain Views and unique local wines.

MOUNTAIN BROOK VINEYARDS

This winery has been given a complete remodel and overhaul since it was taken over by new owners last May.  The winery now features beautiful outdoor seating with couches and a variety of tables in numerous seating areas.  There is a wonderful outdoor fireplace, a giant firepit, a water feature, expanded indoor seating and the list goes on.  This winery often features live music, a food truck and other fun events.  The wines are unique and very good.  The tasting menu is fun and often there is also sangria- and sangria tastings if you are lucky.  This is a great place to spend an afternoon or evening and is only 1.2 miles from The Tryon Chalet.  (left on Coxe- then first left on Phillips Dairy)  This winery is also an amazing wedding destination site.  731 Phillips Dairy Road Tryon 828.817.4376  www.mountainbrookvineyards.com

OVERMOUNTAIN VINEYARDS

Overmountain is a boutique family owned vineyard and winery featuring distinct French styled wines.  On over 70 acres, the tasting room in situated in a charming cottage surrounded by wonderful outdoor seating with Blueridge Mountain views.  OMV has a wonderful tasting menu as well as incredible sangria.  There are often special events and live music at the winery.  From the deck of The Chalet one can see the winery and vineyards just below us to the right.  The winery is our closest neighbor on the downhill side of us.  2012 Sandy Plains Rd Tryon  828.863.0523 www.overmountainvineyards.com

RUSSIAN CHAPEL HILLS WINERY

This sweet serene winery is located about only a mile from The Tryon Chalet Cabins and less than 2 miles from tThe Tryon Chalet.  There is actually a Russian Chapel in the middle of the vineyards that you can explore.
